Productivity Enhancement Program

Program Assistant
Job Description

The Productivity Enhancement Program is a variation of the historic
Marshall Plan Technical Assistance program that was carried out after World
War II between 1946 and 1954. Concentrating on rebuilding production, PEP
brings non-English speaking Russian and Ukrainian business people and
municipal leaders to the US for intensive study in multiple US production
sites for one month. Delegates visit approximately fifteen companies in
their industry sub-sector, analyze and document each day's learning and
prepare themselves to be trainers of producers or leaders upon their
return.

Duties and Responsibilities: The program assistant provides support to the
program staff in recruiting and working with US service organizations to
coordinate training programs for Russian and Ukrainian delegations.

More specifically, duties and responsibilities include but are not limited
to the following:

* Maintain materials & supply stock
* Provide support to program, staff including:
                * Visa & Travel arrangements
                * Meeting & Receptions arrangements
                        * Data Entry
* Develop, maintain, troubleshoot & refine PEP computer systems
* Manage USIA health insurance database & medical claims; comply with
        USIA health insurance requirements
* Provide Assistance to Program Manager
* Keep meeting notes of PEP meetings
* Other projects as assigned

Required Skills:

* strong organizational skills and close attention to detail
* ability to take direction and meet deadlines
* excellent problem-solving skills
* Macintosh computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, File Maker & PageMaker)
* understanding of the operation of PC compatible computers
* professional appearance

Salary: $22,000 - 26,000 plus a competitive benefits package
