                JUNIOR FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM 1997
           Regional Environmental Center, Budapest

The Junior Fellowship Program allows young, active environmentalists
from central and eastern Europe to spend one month in the REC
Headquarters in Budapest to take part in training on NGO
organizational development issues, establish contacts with
environmentalists from other countries and learn about the REC's
services. After this month fellows will have practical experience in
project proposal writing, presentation skills, networking, project and
organizational management, computer applications and fundraising.
During the fellowship they will have access to all REC resources and
have the option to work on projects that directly benefit their NGO.
Junior Fellows come from a variety of backgrounds and from different
CEE countries. They should be between 20 and 30 years old and have
experience in working in environmental NGOs. They should exhibit a
strong interest in improving the environment in the region.

For the 1997 sessions, we are inviting participants from

        Albania Armenia Azerbaijan
        Belarus Bosznia Bulgaria
        Croatia Czech Republic Estonia
        Georgia Hungary Kazakhstan
        Latvia Lithuania Macedonia
        Moldova Poland Romania
        Russia Slovakia Slovenia
        Ukraine Yugoslavia

The REC covers all costs for travel, accommodation and
daily expenses.

You should apply if you:
- have demonstrated a strong interest in environmental protection -
are between 20 and 30 years old - are active in an environmental NGO -
are a citizen of the participating countries - speak and write good
English

If you are interested in our program, send a letter of application in
English explaining: - your motives for applying - your expectation of
the program - the activities on which you want to work for your NGO
during the training period - the fellowship periods for which you want
to apply (we encourage you to apply for more than one period)
and your curriculum vitae (CV) in English, containing:

- family name and given names
- full mailing address
- telephone number
- fax number and e-mail address
- nationality
- date and place of birth
- passport no
- education and field of specialization
- knowledge of foreign languages (indicate fair, good or poor)
- working experience and other relevant experience
- computer skills
- name, address, telephone and fax number of your NGO
- description of your activities in the NGO
- information about your NGO
