Attorney sought for pension reform project in Bulgaria
Multinational Strategies, Inc., a consulting and sovereign advisory firm
specializing in countries in CEE and the NIS, seeks a well-qualified
attorney for an upcoming pension reform project for the government of
Bulgaria.
The project will focus on establishing the legal and regulatory
framework necessary to monitor voluntary private pension fund activity,
as well as to revamp the existing social security system. Currently,
Bulgaria has a pay-as-you-go mandatory system which requires some
restructuring, as well as a small voluntary pension fund industry. The
government is interested in establishing a three-tier system which would
include a mandatory private pension fund system.
The ideal candidate would have 10+ years of legal experience, including
international work (in CEE a plus but not required), with a background
in pensions or pension reform. Prior project management experience
(e.g.: USAID, World Bank, etc.) and US citizenship preferred.
The position will be based in Bulgaria and requires a minimum one year
commitment.
