Subject: CIVITAS seeks contacts
My name is John Eischied and I am working for CIVITAS. We publish a Web
site called Civnet. It is an international resource of teaching
materials, news briefs, and commentary for civic education practitioners.
Civnet is part of the CIVITAS inititiative dedicated to promoting civic
education worldwide. and is accessed by thousands of people every week
in over 110 countries.
I am creating a comprehensive email list of people interested in
distributing and receiving free educational materials such as lesson
plans, syllabi, curricula, national standards and textbooks in any
language. People on this list will also receive Civnet News and Civnet
Journal of Civil Society. Civnet News contains news about civil society
and updates on events. Civent Journal contains articles from renowned
journalists and scholars, as well as practical articles for
non-government organizations that focus on civic education. If you want
to be on this list, please let me know by using email or telephone.
I am also assembling a database of educators and organizations promoting
civic education, civic journalism, democracy and citizenship. I would
appreciate it if you could email me the following information about you
and any other organizations you feel might be interested:
Name
Title
Organization
City
Country
Telephone Number
Email Address
Web site address (if applicable)
If you have any educational materials in electronic format or articles on
teaching, we encourage you to send them. Any language is acceptable. If
any of the material is copyrighted, or should contain a disclaimer,
please let me know.
Please look at Civnet. The address is " www.civnet.org". Our
international readers include educators, NGOs, think tanks, and
policymakers. All of them find Civnet indispensible.
Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
John Eischeid
