ISAR: Initiative for Social Action and Renewal in Eurasia is a nonprofit
organization that promotes citizen participation and the development of
the nongovernmental sector in the countries of the former Soviet Union.
ISAR's offices in the United States and Eurasia support citizen activists
and grassroots nongovernmental organizations in their efforts to create
just and sustainable societies.
ISAR is seeking a part-time intern to perform administrative duties for
its Washington, DC office. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who
has strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Responsibilities Include:
� Ensuring that the office is kept clean and organized, office machines
and office facilities are in good repair, supplies ordered and mail
opened;
� Greeting visitors and answering phones in a professional manner;
� Handling logistics for office events;
� Taking care of library;
� Assisting Executive Director and Financial Department as necessary.
Qualities Required:
� Strong organizational and administrative abilities;
� Native fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English;
� Interest in and knowledge of the former Soviet Union;
� Enthusiasm, desire to learn, ability to relate comfortably with the public;
� Flexibility, resourcefulness and willingness to pitch in when needed;
ability to get along well with others in a small, busy office.
Qualities Desired:
� Experience with Macintosh computers and applications
� Research experience using the world wide web
