     HENRY FORD EUROPEAN CONSERVATION AWARD'S PROGRAM
       IS ANNOUNCED IN RUSSIA FOR THE SEVENTH TIME

Moscow, December 2, 1998 - Ford Motor Company, LLC has started to
accept applications for the prestigious Henry Ford European
Conservation Awards. By tradition the winner of the Russian contest
will receive $ 15,000 for realization of the project.

Henry Ford European Award's mission is to support the initiatives
aimed to protect the environment and cultural heritage. All project
presented for the competition are divided into four categories :
Environment Conservation, Cultural Heritage Conservation, Engineering,
Youth Projects. National Competitions are judged by the independent
national jury.

In the year 1998 more then 2000 individual and group projects competed
for Henry Ford European Awards amount of totaling $ 500,000. The
European Grand-Prix '98 was awarded by the project from Turkey calling
to preserve unique Mediterranean seal. The winners of the Russian
contest in 1998 was a group of ornithologists headed by Alexandr
Mischenko, which initiated the creation of a zone of protected peat
bogs in the North-West of Russia : in Novgorodskaya, Pskovskaya and
Vologodskaya (Continued) - 2 - oblast.

"The significance of Henry Ford European Award is recognized by
well-known conservation specialists", - said William Clay Ford junior,
Chairman of the Ford Conservation and Public Politics Committee, the
Chairman of Henry Ford Conservation Award, great grandson of Henry
Ford. - "It became Ford tradition to concern about environment
preservation".

Henry Ford Conservation Award was founded 15 years ago when Ford of
Britain together with Conservation Fund announced Henry Ford Award for
Conservation. Supported by the Council of Europe, World Heritage
Center of UNESCO and Conservation Fund, European Henry Ford
Conservation Award today is announcing contests in 30 countries.
