Subject: [Scientist] Call for US Volunteers
The U.S. Civilian Research and Development Foundation (CRDF) is in
need of US scientists in Russia to help conduct evaluation site
visits to eight universities for our Basic Research and Higher
Education (BRHE) Program. This is a program run jointly by CRDF and
the Russian Ministry of Education, and is designed to support the
formation of university-based scientific Research and Education
Centers (RECs) in Russia.
Originally, a delegation of three US scientists was going to travel
to the eight finalists universities with a Russian delegation as part
of the joint review process. Due to the tragic events of last week,
we have had to cancel the US delegation's trip to Russia. Thus, we
are looking for US scientists already in Russia who might be
interested in participating in this review process.
The trip will go to eight universities in the following cities:
Moscow, St. Petersburg, Barnaul, Samara, Voronezh, and Perm.
The site visits will begin this weekend (September 23) and will
continue until October 6. Ideally, we would like the same site visit
team for the full two weeks, but are willing to work with people on
alternate schedules if needed.
Please contact Siri Oswald if you are able to volunteer your time.
