Dear Colleagues,
I am Andrea Gruber, a PhD student at the Graduate School of Public and
International Affairs, at the University of Pittsburgh.
I also work as an assistant to one of the professor, Dr. Paul J. Nelson.
In the spring Professor Nelson is going to teach a class called: NGOs,
Development and Civil Society. This course focuses on the roles of NGOs
and civil society organizations in development and social/political change,
exploring both the significance and limits of their roles in development.
During the course Professor Nelson would like to use country case studies
to explore issues of the complex relationships in which NGOs work, among
governments, donor agencies, interest groups, civil society organizations
and social movements in concrete, contemporary settings.
Therefore, I would like to request that if you are aware of any written
material or video resources of this kind (that is country case studies
related to NGOs' roles in the country), please advise me on the title and
the availability.
Your assistance will be highly appreciated.
Sincerely yours,
Andrea Gruber
