BP as Operator for and on behalf of the shareholder companies of the
Baku-Tibilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline and South Caucasus gas Pipeline
(SCP) projects is seeking applications from qualified national and
international Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO's) registered in Georgia
to implement the "Community Investment Programme" (CIP) for BP and on behalf
of the shareholder companies.
The overall objective of the BP Georgia Community Investment Programme is to
promote sustainable social, economic and environmental development in the
communities where we operate.
Details of the programme are outlined in the application pack available at
the address below.
In view of the variety of themes and issues, the geographic spread and the
wish to have national and international NGOs involved in the implementation,
qualified organizations are encouraged to team up and form consortia with
partner organizations specialised in key sectors. Qualified and experienced
NGOs are therefore encouraged to submit proposals in their capacity as lead
NGO and to form implementing arrangements with other national and
international NGOs.
Not-for-profit organisations officially registered with a permit to operate
in Georgia are eligible to compete and/or lead on the program under this
solicitation. Applications from for-profit firms will be considered only if
the profit or fee is waived.
Lead NGO applicants must have and be able to demonstrate all the following
capabilities, but may only be required to execute one or more of the
proposed activities within a consortium of implementing partners:
* Proven experience in the management and/or implementation of grant-type
projects or equivalent initiatives with funds of at least USD $1.5 million
provided by or through international donor structures;
* Proven experience in project implementation with national and
international NGO-structures and in cooperation with local government in
Georgia;
